Things I've learned since I started blogging
Since I started blogging, I’ve learned a few things along the way.
I learned that everyone isn’t always going to agree with what you do. If it’s something you truly love, then put yourself out there and do it! Who cares what everyone else thinks? I’ve always forced myself to remember that no one ever got anywhere by worrying about other people, so I don’t. I ignore other people and I do what I love.
I learned that not everyone will support you. Even if your parents, friends, or close friends don’t support you — don’t let it stop you. Don’t ever let anything stop you.
Every blog has to start from somewhere. Do you think my photos were fantastic quality in the beginning? Heck no! I had no idea what I was doing. I still don’t. I consider this whole process a learning experience and I think I always will. I spend hours on hours researching and teaching myself new things everyday.
If you are starting a blog, you need to decide on a platform and a subject. Do you want to be a food blogger, a fashion blogger, a lifestyle blogger or a travel blogger? You have to decide and have a business plan set before you go all in. Next, you need to decide if you want to use blogger (a google platform) or WordPress, square space, etc. Brand yourself.
Make social media accounts for your blog. SERIOUSLY. Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook — whatever it takes. If you’re going to make a blog…don’t do it half way…go all in.
Lastly, be consistent. Post everyday…every other day — create a rhythm.
!function(doc,s,id){ var e, p; if(!doc.getElementById(id)) { e = doc.createElement(s); e.id = id; p = ‘//shopsensewidget.shopstyle.com/widget-script.js’; var cb = new Date().getTime(); p += ‘?cb=’ + cb; e.src = p; doc.body.appendChild(e); } if(typeof window.ss_shopsense === ‘object’){ if(doc.readyState === ‘complete’){ window.ss_shopsense.init(); } } }(document, ‘script’, ‘shopsensewidget-script’);
